Ted Cruz, JD Vance Just Slapped A Bet Against Each Other For Texas-Ohio State Game

College football is serious business — Ted and JD know it!

The Cotton Bowl, the College Football Playoff semifinal, is fast approaching. this Friday Arlington will host a powerhouse showdown between Ohio State and Texas. In fact, there's so much hype surrounding this game that two prominent Republicans are betting against each other to get in on the action.

It all started with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who immediately brought J.D. Vance into the conversation. Yes, the next Vice President of the United States. And JD was all for fun! Wanting to stir things up between the two, Cruz made his Texas loyalty known and issued a challenge to Vance and his alma mater, OSU.

Cruz offered a friendly bet in a tweet Tuesday.

“@JDVance, would you like to bet on the UT vs. Ohio State game? The loser will bring in beer and food from their home state and deliver it while wearing the winning jersey. #HookEm,” Cruz wrote. Ta.

JD is a fighter himself, so he was all for it.

“So what Texas ice cream should I bring Ted if the Buckeyes win?'' Mr. Vance answered in just a few minutes. “Let me be clear, @tedcruz, you're in!”

This just made Cotton Bowl even more interesting! Let's get it!
