Mayor Karen Bass Silent when Questioned on Fire Incompetence

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) fell into near silence when asked by reporters about her incompetent response to the wildfires that ravaged the city during an unprecedented storm.

As Breitbart News reported on Wednesday, Mayor Karen Bass warned that the wildfires would continue, even though experts gave more than 24 hours' notice of what they predicted would be the worst storm to hit Los Angeles since 2011. A review of Los Angeles' budget reveals that Democratic Mayor Karen Bass has cut about $20 million from the city's fire department budget for this fiscal year and is calling for even bigger cuts. At least 80,000 people have been evacuated as a massive wildfire rages through Los Angeles, and local reports say the Los Angeles Fire Department is running out of water.

Mayor Bass had proposed approximately $23 million in cuts to the LA Fire Department. Mayor Bass was traveling abroad in Ghana with a Biden delegation when local residents of Los Angeles slammed Bass, calling for him to resign. $13 million of the cuts to the Los Angeles Fire Department were in operational supplies as well as significant reductions in salaries.

On Wednesday, when asked by a Sky News reporter about his response to the fire, Bass remained silent for nearly two minutes, expressionless.

The moment sparked immediate criticism online.
