Breitbart Editor Tries to Save House in Palisades Fire

Breitbart News Senior Editor Joel B. Pollack reported on the Palisades fire Wednesday afternoon and spent an hour trying to save his home, one of the last remaining in the Marques Knolls neighborhood. spent.

Pollack traveled through the relative safety of the Pacific Palisades area, where fires were burning all around him and many of the downed power lines were still alive.

Water to the house was no longer available, but Pollack was able to find vases and buckets to collect water that had been flowing downhill through street gutters. He started putting out fires around the house.

Pollack later noticed two local handymen working to extinguish the fire as he drove by and helped them. They helped him carry buckets of water to put out small fires near the fence and in neighbors' yards.

The fire became too intense so they left.

Pollack continued reporting from other parts of the Palisades, including the site of the destroyed home of actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Although the winds had subsided considerably, the fire was still burning as of Wednesday night, and it was unclear whether Pollack's home would survive.

The fire spread to other parts of Los Angeles, including Pasadena and Altadena. Hollywood Hills. And Studio City. Hundreds of thousands of people have been ordered to evacuate. Five deaths have been reported, but none in the Palisades.
