On January 11, Breitbart News reported that Burleson was pushing not only to abolish the ATF but also to repeal the National Firearms Act (NFA). The NFA is a federal law that regulates the sale, possession, and transfer of firearms and/or accessories, often referred to as Class III. These include suppressors, short-barreled shotguns, short-barreled rifles, machine guns, and more. In light of the NFA, law-abiding gun owners seeking a suppressor must submit a photo, fingerprints, and pay a $200 federal tax. Perform an enhanced background check and have your accessories registered with the ATF.

The same tedious process applies to acquiring short-barreled shotguns, rifles, and even machine guns.
