High school girls claim teacher is a sexual predator. Now the teens are the ones charged with felonies.

Two high school girls in Louisiana are accused of accusing their teacher of being a sex offender. However, this time, as a result of a police investigation, two teenagers were charged with the crime.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office said: statement On Dec. 18, 2024, officers received sexual harassment complaints from two female students at Central Lafourche High School in Matthews, about 45 miles southwest of New Orleans.

“We are shocked and appalled by the actions of two of our students.”

The boys have accused a male high school teacher of sending inappropriate sexual messages to a 16-year-old female student.

Sheriff's Office detectives conducted a two-week investigation, during which law enforcement obtained search warrants for cell phones of parties allegedly involved in the incident. Investigators scoured social media and messaging apps and found evidence of wrongdoing.

But authorities said the only egregious activity discovered was by the teens who tried to frame the teacher for child sex crimes.

“An investigation revealed that two teenage girls fabricated messages, created fake accounts, and shared screenshots with friends in an attempt to frame their teacher for sending inappropriate messages,” the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office said. It became clear that he had done so.”

Investigators determined the male teacher did not send any messages or photos and was “not involved” with the two teenage girls.

Police announced, “It was proven that the teacher was in fact the victim of a crime, and he was cleared of all charges.''

Police said detectives re-interrogated the girls following the new developments, and one of the teens confessed to being involved in the crime.

On January 6, the two high school girls were charged with one count each of cyberstalking, online impersonation, and false abuse with intent to endanger public health or safety — felonies. The teens were placed under electronic monitoring and released into the custody of their parents.

Sheriff Craig Webre said, “Our juvenile detectives are diligent and take allegations of inappropriate conduct very seriously. But they take false allegations just as seriously. “Allegations can instantly ruin a person's life, and I am proud that our investigators took such action.” We can get to the bottom of this issue. ”

“Technology has made it much easier for people to try to manipulate the truth, but it has also made it easier for investigators to ultimately find the truth,” Webre said. said.

Lafourche Parish Schools Superintendent Jarrod Martin said in a statement: “We are shocked and appalled by the actions of two of our students. The accusations against one of our teachers are false and malicious, and we will investigate what led to them. We appreciate the efficiency of our investigators.” message. ”

“These attacks on teachers' credibility and reputations are alarming and can hinder teachers' ability to effectively educate children,” Martin continued. “We are committed to investigating all allegations of misconduct in order to provide all students and staff with a safe and conducive environment to learn and work in.”
