No one wants to be stuck with a dead phone on their way to work.
Luckily, Apple shares some simple settings tweaks that can significantly extend battery life, allowing users to get more out of each charge.
Three main settings are particularly effective at conserving battery power: auto-brightness, auto-lock, and location services.

Auto Brightness automatically adjusts the screen lighting based on the surrounding light conditions.
This feature uses a built-in light sensor to detect the ambient light level and reduces the screen brightness in dark environments and increases the brightness when necessary. This feature not only makes the display more comfortable for the eyes, but also contributes to longer battery life.
To enable auto brightness, go to: Settings > Accessibility > Display and font size. Scroll down to find Auto Brightness toggle and turn it on.
Additionally, you can enable the “Night Shift” feature from this menu to further help save battery. This reduces the blue light emitted by the screen, adjusts the color temperature to warmer colors based on time of day and location, and may also help reduce battery usage at night.
Auto-lock is a feature that automatically locks your phone after a period of inactivity, which helps save energy. If your iPhone's screen is on for longer than necessary, it can drain your battery quickly.
For this reason, Apple recommends adjusting the auto-lock duration to a shorter duration to conserve power.
To adjust auto-lock, Settings > Display and brightnessClick and scroll down to the Auto-Lock option. Users can set it to as little as 30 seconds, so the phone shuts down immediately when not in use.
Another helpful tip is to disable the always-on display feature if you have an iPhone 14 Pro or newer. Even when your device is locked, the screen will dim and display information such as the time and notifications.
Although designed to have minimal impact on battery life, turning off the always-on display may still help improve overall battery performance.
This setting is located in the same location display and brightness menu.
Location Services is a useful tool for tracking your location for apps that request it, but it can also drain your battery. Using GPS, your phone uses a lot of power.
To maximize battery life, consider disabling location services for apps that don't require them.
To manage location services, go to: [設定]>[プライバシーとセキュリティ]>[位置情報サービス]. Users will see a list of apps that have access to your location. You can turn it off completely or disable it for individual apps.
By making these simple adjustments, iPhone users can double their battery life and avoid the dreaded “low battery” notification.
