Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is likely to own office space in the White House as he prepares to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), according to a new report.
Mr. Musk is likely to occupy space in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, right next to the West Wing, which houses most of the office space for White House staff. The New York Times reported.
The paper said Musk and transition officials have been discussing what access Musk will have to President-elect Trump after the inauguration, but no concrete plans have been finalized and the West Wing He pointed out that a special pass is usually required to visit freely.
Musk, along with technology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, are leading DOGE, which aims to eliminate government spending and waste and streamline efficiency and operations. However, the newspaper reported that it was unclear whether Mr. Ramaswamy would also be expected to occupy office space in the White House.

DOGE is not part of the federal government, but is a blue ribbon commission that is expected to recommend executive orders to the Trump administration and work with the Office of Management and Budget to implement reforms.
DOGE's goal is to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget through spending, government programs, and federal workforce reduction efforts.
But Musk recently cast doubt on the possibility of cutting $2 trillion from the federal budget, saying he would likely cut $1 trillion.
