House Passes Bill Banning Biological Boys from Girls Sports, Saying it’s ‘Common Sense’

The Republican-controlled House on Tuesday passed a bill that would ban biological males from playing on women's teams. It addresses the issues that fueled President Donald Trump's return to the White House and that polls show has broad support among the public.

The Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act passed by a vote of 218-206, with all 216 Republicans joining the two Democrats. invoice Title IX is amended to prohibit schools receiving federal assistance from “allowing persons of male gender to participate in athletic programs or activities that: specified The bill states that a person's gender is “based solely on that person's reproductive biology and genetics at birth,” and all 206 “no” votes were from Democrats.

“We know from the Bible and from nature that a man is a man, a woman is a woman, and a man cannot be a woman. Prime Minister Johnson said this at a press conference after the bill was passed. “It's sad to have to say that. It's a question of biology. It's how it happens.” It was made. And if we ignore it or try to reverse it, we are doing our daughters a disservice at our peril. ”

Supporters say the bill is necessary. problem Fairness and safety. “I’m excited about how this is going, but she said. “…But to be honest, I'm angry. I'm angry that this is what we have to do. I I'm angry that we as women have to demand equal rights. I'm angry that we have to have privacy where we undress, and I'm angry that we have to have security on the court and field.''

Kristen Wagoner, president of the Alliance Defending Freedom, also praised the House.

“Girls shouldn't be spectators of their sport. Wagoner said. Allowing men who identify as women to participate in women's sports ignores the biological differences between men and women, destroys fair competition, and eliminates women's athletic potential. I will let you do it. ”
