Dismembered Bodies Left by Cartel Gunmen on Mexican Beach

Authorities in Mexico's Tabasco state remain silent after cartel gunmen left dismembered bodies on a popular beach and posted a series of posters threatening rival cartels and the state's police chief. The horrific crime scene is believed to be the result of an ongoing turf war between local cartels.

Early Tuesday morning, authorities responded to Rosario Beach, Tabasco, regarding multiple bodies dumped. Authorities found numerous body parts at the scene, some wrapped in black garbage bags, as well as several posters with various threats. The threat is signed by a local group called La Barredora, or Cartel Tabasco New Generation, which is fighting with Cartel Jalisco New Generation for control of key territory in the region.

Tabasco state officials remained silent about the killing and did not provide further details about the incident. Violence has increased dramatically in Mexico's once-peaceful southern state of Tabasco in recent months as rival criminal groups continue to expand their turf wars.

The country's military and police have done little to stem the escalating cartel violence across the country.
