Patriots star Drake Maye gets engaged to girlfriend Ann Michael Hudson

Drake Maye made the biggest play of his life.

The Patriots quarterback proposed to his longtime girlfriend Ann-Michael Hudson and announced their engagement in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

“I love spending my life with you and I can't wait to marry you!” May said as she got down on one knee and later posed by the water at sunset at an anonymous location. He wrote this in the caption of a photo of the moment the two of them took together.

The Patriots also posted a message congratulating them on their win. instagram account.

“Congratulations to Drake May and Anne Michael Hudson!!” the team wrote alongside a photo of May's post.

Maye, 22, and his soon-to-be bride received plenty of well wishes from former Patriots, including Bailey Zappe and Hunter Henry, as well as fellow rookie quarterbacks Jaden Daniels and JJ McCarthy.

The couple also received a heartfelt congratulations from Izzy Nix, the wife of Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix.

May and Hudson have been dating since middle school, and celebrated their nine-year anniversary in October.

“I've been with you for nine years and you keep getting better every day. I couldn't imagine life without you, my best friend.” Hudson wrote in an Instagram post. after that. “I love you more than you know!”

The two attended the University of North Carolina, where Hudson is still a student in the business school.

New England selected Maye with the third overall pick in 2024, and he started 12 games in his first year, making his NFL debut as a reliever in Week 3 against the Jets.

Maye threw for 2,276 yards and 15 touchdowns in his rookie season, making him one of the top freshman players in 2024.

The young quarterback will be under the tutelage of new Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel next season after the team moves on from Jerod Mayo.
