Cameron Diaz never thought he'd make another movie until he got a call from Jamie Foxx.
Diaz revealed that she spent the past decade away from the spotlight before returning to acting in Fox's Back in Action.

Diaz revealed in an October interview that nothing could change her mind about her decision to leave Hollywood. She quit acting in 2014 to focus on building a life with her husband Benji Madden.

Back in Action, the film that marked Diaz's return to acting, was postponed to 2023 due to Fox's health concerns and is currently scheduled to be released on Netflix on January 17th.
Diaz appeared on the red carpet with Fox in Germany on January 15th to promote the film.
She admitted to Fox that she “couldn't say no” to the project, which would ultimately be their third collaboration after starring in “Annie” and “Any Given Sunday.”
