Elizabeth Warren Accuses Longtime Democrat Donor Sam Altman of Seeking ‘Favors’ from Trump After $1 Million Inaugural Donation

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) said in a letter to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman that President-elect Donald Trump accused the tech entrepreneur of wanting “favors” from him after donating $1 million to his inaugural committee. Mr. Altman has been a longtime donor to the Democratic Party.

“Interestingly, they never sent me these letters because of my contributions to the Democratic Party…,” Altman wrote on X, sharing a letter he received from two Senate Democrats.

Altman is Confirmed He told media he plans to attend President Trump's inauguration on Monday.

Two Democratic senators appear to have accused Altman of seeking some sort of quid pro quo scheme.

“You have a clear and direct interest in gaining favor with the incoming administration. Your company and many other Big Tech donors are already the subject of ongoing federal investigations and regulatory actions. ” Warren and Bennett argued.

They went on to say that “the industry's efforts suggest that Big Tech companies are trying to curry favor and circumvent the rules.”

“This is good for billionaire tech executives, but bad for America,” they added.

Warren and Bennett also said the latest donation would “increase our giving.”[s] The question is about the influence of corruption and corporate money on the Trump administration. ”

Two Senate Democrats have attacked the OpenAI CEO, with multiple news outlets reporting that Altman has overwhelmingly donated to Democrats over Republicans.

In a July report, newsweek Altman wrote that he had it. donated to hundreds of Democrats and just one Republican.

Even briefly glance Federal election databases show Altman was a major donor to the Democratic Party.
