Indiana pizza delivery driver Connor Stephanoff hiked through snowstorm and got $2 tip on $40 order — before police officer steps in to help

A dedicated pizza delivery driver in Indiana received a $2 tip after walking half a mile through a dangerous snowstorm in a “very affluent” area.

Rockstar Pizza employee Connor Stefanoff was spotted walking through treacherous conditions last week in Brownsburg, Indiana, where multiple snow plows were filling the road to remove snow. According to the video posted by Lieutenant Richard Craig of Avon Police Station.

Stefanov was initially driving to complete the order, but the road was closed due to a school bus accident.

@Officer Craig

A $2 tip is a crime! Who did this: #embarrassing Rockstar Pizza comes with a Rockstar screwdriver. (Brownsburg, Indiana) This guy is a rare breed. Although it was snowing all day today, there were nearly 30 collisions and slip-and-fall accidents reported every hour. This school bus was involved in a minor collision. The bus slid backwards and sideways down a hill and got stuck, blocking a street in this neighborhood, making it completely impassable. The road was bad so it took about 20 minutes. Gain 3-4 miles. this #Delivery driver He pulled up before police arrived. The delivery took place about a quarter mile past where the bus blocked the street. This young man did not allow himself to be discouraged by such things. He didn't call the manager to complain, nor did he call the customer to tell them the $40 pizza they ordered couldn't be delivered. Oh my god. This man has a different body. He was undaunted by the obstacles he faced, including a half-mile round-trip hike through cold, wet snow. He parked his car at the top of a hill and got out, wearing gray sweats and Nikes, without a coat or gloves. He picked up this Rockstar Pizza and set off on a hike through the very cold and wet snow with the pizza. It was the start of his shift at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday, and he was confident this family would get their pizza. This was in a more affluent area, and he believed that his rare pride and dedication to his work (often absent from some of his contemporaries) would be duly rewarded. It must be. But more than that, he wanted to make sure this family had pizza delivered to their door. Therefore, they did not have to leave the premises of a warm, comfortable and very nice house. I saw him walking down the middle of the street after finishing his delivery and caught my attention. I said out loud, “What does this guy think he's doing?” As I initially thought, he was the neighbor who came to “fix” the accident. The bus driver said he had passed by once and was delivering pizza. I didn't fully believe it. Would a young pizza delivery boy in 2025 do something like this? Nothing that I know of! Not fully believing it, I pressed RECORD and asked this young man: When he confirmed, I was stunned and couldn't believe it. But most of all, I was impressed, and still am! I am proud to have witnessed this firsthand. However, my excitement and pride quickly turned to frustration when I asked him about the tip. Who would tip a guy like this who risks everything to bring food to your house?? Let alone go hiking when all the roads are nearly impassable. I sincerely hope this algorithm is good enough that someone who has run it can confirm this. No matter who you are, you should be ashamed of yourself!! Shame on you. $40 pizza delivery and $2 tip! Everyone in this neighborhood can afford it. If you can't do that, don't order pizza you can't afford. After processing, he only received $2, which I had just witnessed and reached into my wallet. To tip someone who probably makes twice my salary. But I didn't want to disappoint this young man. Unfortunately, my wallet was inside the Tahoe at the top of a large hill. I quickly followed him up the hill and handed him the little cash I had in my wallet. (about $15) He deserved more than that. I don't know who this guy is, but if you are, please tag him, show him some ❤️❤️❤️ and give him the recognition he deserves! Well done🫡#incrediblework #Rockstar #Brownsburg #Indiana #delivery #driver #snow #pizzaguy #pizza @Dave Portnoy #Lifestyle and soccer #Dedicated #work ethics @Pat McAfee View clip

That's when Stefanov decided to complete the trip on foot, wearing sweatpants, a sweater, a beanie and sneakers.

Craig was outside helping residents navigate dangerous road conditions when he noticed Stefanov walking down the snow-covered street and directed him to step off the street and onto the sidewalk.

Stefanoff said he had to walk through the snow to complete a $40 pizza delivery.

“Did you get any good tips?” Craig asked.

“Two dollars,” Stefanov replied.

Stefanoff looked at the receipt again and revised the number to $2.15.

The policeman was stunned.

“Two dollars?” Craig yelled. “Are you kidding me? Cold-blooded! Two dollars. Look at this guy. This guy has walked through hell and high water to deliver pizza.”

Craig was impressed by Stefanov's work ethic and dedication, but was fed up with the fact that customers in wealthy areas barely tipped him in such dire conditions.

“Delivery was about 1/4 mile past where the bus blocked the street,” Craig captioned the video below. “This young man didn't let this get him down. He didn't call his manager to complain, he didn't call his customers and tell them the $40 pizza they ordered couldn't be delivered. There wasn't. Oh my god, this guy has a different body.”

Craig donated $15 to Stefanoff and has started a GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $500.

As of Saturday morning, the fundraiser had raised more than $16,000.

“I think the reason this story resonates is because all of us who have worked in customer service have been Connor at some point.” Rockstar Pizza wrote in a Facebook post. “We have gone above and beyond what anyone has asked of us, but our efforts have gone unrecognized. Without Officer Craig, this would have been just another delivery shift for Connor.”

“Anytime, anywhere, in any situation. You'll get pizza,” Stefanov told WRTV. Officer Craig/TikTok

The restaurant added that it gave employees the option to stay home during the storm if they did not feel safe.

Stefanov decided to work.

The restaurant added: “He is a great kid who works hard and we are so happy to have him on board.”

“Anytime, anywhere, in any situation. We'll bring you pizza.” Stefanov told WRTV.
