Saquon Barkley has experienced love and hate and knows firsthand the type of passion that exists among Eagles fans.
After taking a jab at the fan base for hating Jared Barth, Barkley expects the team's supporters to be especially vocal about the Rams' rookie edge rusher.
“Probably not the wisest thing to say when coming to Philadelphia. I've been on the other side, but even if I had some feelings, it probably wouldn't give them any additional fuel. ” Barkley told reporters Friday. “Philly fans definitely saw that comment. We were already going to rock it loud, so it just adds to it.”
Sunday's regional-round battle between the Eagles and Rams at Lincoln Financial Field will be a heated one either way, but perhaps Verse's comments will raise the decibel level a notch or two.
The 24-year-old grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Central Columbia High School in Bloomsburg.
He knows Eagles fans, but he doesn't like Eagles fans.
“I Hate Eagles Fans” Verse told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday. “They're really annoying. I hate Eagles fans.”
When the Rams played the Eagles in Southern California in November, Vaas said he could hear the jeers of Eagles fans even with his headphones on.
“I didn't do anything to them,” the Pro Bowler told the Times. “It was my first time playing. Oh, I hate Eagles fans.”
Vaas did not elaborate on the screams that were directed at her.
Perhaps Eagles fan Ryan Caldwell lost his job at a DEI-focused company and was banned from Lincoln Financial Field for yelling at a female Packers fan last weekend. The nature of provocation may now be further spotlighted. “That's ridiculous.”
Caldwell apologized in a statement to the Post, saying his actions were “not without provocation” that were not seen in the viral video.
