‘Most, if Not All’ of Trump’s Nominees Will Get at Least 50 Votes

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) predicted Wednesday that “most if not all” of President-elect Donald Trump's nominees will receive at least 50 votes in the Senate. Breitbart News Daily.

Asked if he thought President Trump's defense secretary nominee, Pete Hegseth, would get 50 votes, Johnson said, “Oh, yeah. I think most, if not all, Trump nominees will get it.” answered.

“The default position of Republican senators is that this is a persuasive election,” he said, explaining that the president, not senators, decides who goes into the Cabinet.

“Our role is to respect the election results and make sure that President Trump has the people in his administration that he wants to surround himself with,” the senator said. “He has ultimate responsibility.”
