Voters Have an ‘Appetite and Hunger for Hate and Punishing the Other’

MSNBC host Nicole Wallace said on Friday's show “Deadline” that “no one wants to talk about” voters' “appetite and hunger for hate and punishment of others.”

Wallace said this while discussing President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees. I don't know how you can make people care about the character of a woman who writes in her book that she brutally shot her dog to death because it was a healthy puppy. I don't know how you connect with the American public and make them care about the character of a man whose own mother told him he was “terrible with women.” I don't know how to get people to connect or care about the lack of qualifications of a person responsible for more mass deportations of humans than at any time in human history. That is the ambition of President Trump's mass deportation policy. ”

She added, “I think there's something structural that no one wants to talk about in terms of people's desire and hunger for hate and punishment of others.”

“Nicole, I think you're absolutely right,” host Simone Sanders said.

She added, “The reality is that many of these candidates are simply unqualified. As you press, Pete Hegseth's alcoholism and unfaithfulness to his wife, and possibly sexual assault allegations. Let's put the issue aside. He is not qualified to be the Secretary of Defense.”
