In Chicago, where Mayor Brandon Johnson is a Democrat, six people were shot in a span of about six hours between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
chicago 32 reported The first two shooting victims were shot and injured Saturday at 9:39 p.m., and the sixth victim was shot at 3:46 a.m. Sunday.
The first two victims, both 37-year-old men, were sitting in a vehicle in the 5800 block of West Madison Avenue when someone fired shots and fled the scene. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Just before midnight Saturday, a 25-year-old woman and a man were driving in the “2800 block of North Laramie Avenue” when gunshots rang out. Two people were shot and injured, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
About two hours later, a 19-year-old boy was shot and killed in critical condition after an altercation with another person. The altercation occurred in a parking lot in the 3100 block of North Central Avenue.
A 41-year-old man was also shot and killed after an argument at 3:46 a.m. Sunday. He was admitted to the hospital in good condition.
