Hours before President Trump's second inauguration, an election office in Oregon was vandalized and severely damaged.
Portland police confirmed to Fox News Digital that 20 windows and two doors were smashed with rocks at the Multnomah County Elections Office in southeast Portland early Monday morning.
A department spokesperson said an alert alerted police officers to the incident, adding that officers found graffiti on the building.
“We believe eight to 10 people were involved,” a police officer said. “Additionally, there was some anti-government and anti-establishment graffiti on the building.”

Police said multiple suspects fled before officers arrived.

Workers added that there appeared to be no damage inside the building other than broken glass on the floor and the sidewalk outside.

Officials said there was no indication that the vandalism was in any way connected to President Trump's inauguration.
Police announced that no arrests had been made.
The incident is under investigation and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Portland Police Department at crimes@police.portlandoregon.gov, reference incident number 25-17004.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Multnomah County Elections Office, but did not immediately receive a response.

This is not the first incident of political violence in Oregon.
An unknown suspect was caught on surveillance camera setting an incendiary device on a ballot box in Portland during the 2024 presidential election, one of several incidents in Oregon and Washington. Ta.
Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey called the incident a “direct attack on democracy” because it occurred just days before Election Day.
The first ballot box fire occurred between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on October 8th. vancouver, washington, the FBI said. No ballots were damaged in the incident.

Two more incidents occurred in Vancouver between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Oct. 28. And Portland. Hundreds of ballots were discarded at drop boxes in Vancouver, and officials said three were damaged in Portland.
All three incidents involved improvised incendiary devices placed outside the box. Investigators recovered sufficient material from the device. Link all three fires.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the case. arrest and conviction of the suspect.
