President Donald Trump's youngest son Barron Trump is drawing praise online after shaking hands with former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris at his father's inauguration on Monday.
“Barron Trump just shook hands with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. This kid is going to be our president one day. You bet on that,” said conservative personality Nick Souter. Post to X on the exchange.
The youngest son shook hands with Biden and Harris shortly after his father took the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States. The 18-year-old New York University freshman participated in several inaugural celebrations on Monday, including attending a service at St. John's Church with his family and participating in the inaugural parade later that day.
Conservatives and other social media commenters praised Barron Trump on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok after shaking his hand and potentially launching a political career one day. Some speculated, while others pondered what the eldest son said to Biden during the quick exchange.

Some on social media joked that Barron whispered, “I forgot to pardon myself” while shaking Biden's hand.
Barron Trump also attended the inaugural parade later that day, receiving thunderous applause from Trump supporters as the birth of his first son was broadcast on the jumbotron at Capital One Arena.
“And I have a very tall son named Barron. Has anyone heard of him?” President Trump told the crowd as cameras in the arena panned to Barron.

President Donald Trump's youngest son waved to the crowd as his supporters applauded and cheered, pumping his fist like his father did after his first assassination attempt in July. Barron also asked the crowd for more applause before being praised by his father for his efforts to rally the youth vote during his campaign.
