Gov. Ron DeSantis Uses ‘Gulf of America’ in Executive Order

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday used “Gulf of the Americas” in an executive order after President Donald Trump's oath of office and subsequent speech, in which he reiterated his intention to rename the Gulf of Mexico. expressed.

Mr. DeSantis on Monday issued Executive Order 25-13 regarding the weather system being implemented in the state. The first sentence of DeSantis' executive order uses the name “Gulf of the Americas.”

“A low-pressure system moving across the U.S. Gulf of America will interact with arctic air and bring widespread impact winter weather to northern Florida starting Tuesday, January 21, 2025…” it begins.

Ultimately, DeSantis declared a state of emergency in the Sunshine State, citing “the conditions described above that are expected to result in a major disaster.”
