Tom Moore will return to NFL sidelines next season.
Moore, 86, will be coaching in his 49th season in the NFL and will continue in his role as an offensive consultant with the Buccaneers. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported Tuesday..
This is his sixth year in office.
Moore has been coaching in the NFL since 1977, with stops in Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Detroit, New Orleans, Indianapolis, New York (Jets), Tennessee, Arizona and Tampa Bay.
Players Moore has worked with include Terry Bradshaw, Barry Sanders, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
He has been on four Super Bowl championship teams, winning two with the Steelers and one each with the Colts and Buccaneers.
And he is respected throughout the NFL for his game acumen and his “Moore-ism.” Explained in NFL movie feature.
One of the things featured on the show was “It's a simple game, but it's not easy.”
“It's easy, block this guy. It's easy, but it's not easy, so you have to be taught the technique and the fundamentals,” Moore explained. “When I was in Pittsburgh, every year on the first day of training camp we would teach the whole team how to block and tackle by numbers.”

“I had heard about Coach Moore, I had heard about Moore-ism before I met him, and I thought, “This guy must be a made-up character, I don't know if he's still doing this.'' There's no way he's there,'' Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield recalled in an NFL movie feature. “And now that I'm here, he's still doing it and really loving it.”
Mayfield added, “I have a lot of respect for him.''
In addition to approaching half a century of coaching in the NFL, he has coached 49 NFL playoff games in his career.
