Thug shows gun amid argument with concealed carrier on Chicago street. Big mistake.

A concealed carry permit holder shot and killed a man who displayed a gun during an argument between the two men on a street on Chicago's South Side Monday night, police said. told WLS-TV.

Police said the shooting occurred in the 7200 block of South Shore Drive around 9 p.m.

According to WLS, the 30-year-old man was outside his car when he got into an argument with a man who was inside.

Police say the man in the car showed the 30-year-old man a handgun at some point.

As a result, the 30-year-old man, who has an Illinois concealed carry permit, shot the man in the chest when he displayed a handgun, WLS reported.

Police said the man who was shot drove himself to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Chicago police took the man into custody at the hospital, WLS said, adding that charges are pending.

Officers also recovered the murder weapon at the scene, the department said, adding that detectives are investigating.
