Danish politician tells Trump Greenland not for sale: 'F— off'

A Danish politician has forcibly rejected US President Donald Trump's offer to acquire Greenland, becoming the latest voice from across the Atlantic to tell the newly installed commander-in-chief to “fuck off”.

“Dear President Trump, please listen to me. Greenland has been part of the Kingdom of Denmark for 800 years. It is an integrated part of our country,” Danish MEP Anders told the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.・Vistissen said.

“It's not for sale,” Vistissen continued. “Let me put it in words you understand, Mr. Trump: F-stop.”

Nicole Stefanuta, vice-president of the European Parliament, rebuked Bistissen for his comments, saying such blasphemous behavior would not be tolerated.

“That cannot be tolerated in this house of democracy,” Stefanuta said. According to mediaite. “Regardless of what we think about Mr. Trump, it is impossible to use such language.”

The exchange comes after President Trump has repeatedly said he would buy Greenland, despite Greenlandic leaders and European officials repeatedly saying Greenland is not for sale.

On his first day in office, President Trump said Denmark would “cooperate” with the potential sale of Greenland.

Greenland is an autonomous region administered by Denmark.

Since winning the election, Trump has expressed interest in purchasing the island, saying it is “absolutely necessary” to own it. He has not ruled out using the US military to achieve that goal.
