Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing will be postponed for one week, according to a committee notice Monday.
The committee hearing was originally scheduled to approve her nomination with a full Senate confirmation vote.

A committee spokesperson told Breitbart News that the delay was due to Democrats on the committee, but did not specify which Democrats.
President Donald Trump has insisted that the Senate needs to confirm all of his nominees in order to evoke a “Golden Age of America” and put an end to President Joe Biden's policies.
The committee's notice reads:
Hit Judicial Commission Rule I.3any committee member may request that any item on the committee's agenda be put on hold for at least seven days. Holds are common in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Under the rules, the minority will hold Bondi's nomination for seven days. As a result of this suspension, which takes effect tomorrow, the Committee do not meet in person For this week's executive business meeting.
The committee is expected to reconvene next week. January 29ththwill hold a final vote on Bondi's nomination.

Congressional Republicans have already called on Mr. Bondi to take immediate action upon confirmation. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer asked Bondy to investigate and prosecute James Biden for lying to Congress, according to a letter obtained by Breitbart News.
Bondi, who served as Florida's first female attorney general and was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, said at a hearing last week that “all He vowed to restore “more justice to the people of the world.”
My overriding goal is to return the Department of Justice to its core mission of keeping Americans safe and vigorously prosecuting criminals, including gangs, narcotics, terrorists, cartels, national borders, and foreign criminals. This includes going back to basics, such as the antagonist. … I believe we are on the cusp of a new golden age in which the Department of Justice will do better if I am confirmed.
Mr. Bondi has been a supporter of Mr. Trump since the beginning of his political career. She served as Trump's defense attorney during his first impeachment trial and co-chaired Women for Trump during the 2020 election. She most recently supported Mr. Trump in a business records trial in New York in May.
