Tom Brady Shoots Down Rumors He’s Leaving Fox Amid Raiders Upheaval

Tom Brady is in a unique position as an NFL analyst and team co-owner. That team, the Raiders, is currently undergoing a major transformation, with speculation mounting that the future Hall of Famer will forego broadcasting duties and become more involved in the rebuilding of the Silver and Black.

But Brady says that's not happening.

In Wednesday's edition, The Herd with Colin Cowherd Brady denied rumors on FS1 that he would be leaving after just one year of his nine-year contract with Fox, suggesting he could stay at Fox for much longer.

“I don't know where it came from,” Brady said. “I had the best time at Fox. I had so much fun every time I got in the booth and worked with great people.”

“I loved the whole process and diving into all the different teams,” Brady said. “I've grown a lot this past year. And I really don't know what the second year and beyond is going to be like and I can't wait. I mean, I have nine years left on my contract. Maybe it's longer. You never know. If FOX wants me and I want to go, I'll just keep going because I've really enjoyed it so far.”

Cowherd also asked Brady what it's like to be an NFL owner.

“Being involved with the Raiders gives me the opportunity to be involved in football for the rest of my life,” Brady said.

“I wish I could have played football for the rest of my life,” Brady said. “But 23 years was long enough. I was tired of taking hits. And I wanted to spend as much time as possible with my kids. Really, being involved with the Raiders meant that I wanted to play football for the rest of my life.” It gives me the opportunity to be involved. I really love my teammates, I always have.”

Brady made notable improvements in his first year as a broadcaster. Although it could be rightly said that he was not a “natural” broadcaster, he displayed enthusiasm and intelligence when analyzing plays, and an overall joy for the game that was evident throughout his playing career.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion has plenty of time and motivation to learn the broadcasting industry. Brady has nine years left on a 10-year contract with an annual salary of $37.5 million.
