Rapper Sexyy Red Deletes A.I. Photo of MLK After Being Called ‘Dishonoring and Deplorable’ by Bernice King

Rapper Sexy Red says a Photoshopped image of him dancing with civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. was called “disrespectful” by the ousted leader's daughter Bernice King. It was deleted after he said that.

The “Get It Sexy” rapper posted the image on January 20, which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the United States.

The doctored photo shows the rapper dancing hand-in-hand with King, facing him as other black clubgoers dance in the background.

She also posted a second image Photoshopped into a historic photo of Martin Luther King Jr. leading a protest march.

However, Dr. King's daughter Bernice did not welcome these posts and asked for the images to be removed, the report said. NME.com.

“This is intentionally disgraceful, deplorable and disrespectful to my family and my father, who was assassinated for working for the rights and human rights of his people and to end war and poverty. I am not here to respond personally,” King's daughter wrote to X. “Please delete.”

The rapper quickly complied with King's request. But King also rejected calls to further condemn or downplay Sexy Red.

“Please don't project your thoughts onto me. I do not believe that Sexy Red is 'decadent,' 'ghetto,' or 'trash.' I have made statements in the past that have used or compared one of my parents to denigrate others,” King warned his followers.

“This use of our father’s image (not just on #MLKDay) in a way that does not convey what we know to be true about his service and sacrifice is completely incomprehensible,” Dr. King said. continued. “Even if you don't agree with him or his tactics, or even if you believe what people who hate him say about him, why would you do that?”

The rapper apologized for the two images, but defended himself by writing, “You're not wrong, I never meant to disrespect your family, I'm sorry.” I just reposted something I saw that I thought was innocent. ”
