Pitbull Teams Up with AI Company for Civics Education
Rapper Pitbull is collaborating with Digital DNA Labs to develop a civics curriculum that will be delivered by AI avatars resembling the Founding Fathers.
Reports indicate that this curriculum has undergone testing at charter schools in Florida, receiving favorable reviews from school administrators.
Jason Inashi, the CEO of Digital DNA Labs, mentioned, “We’re currently engaging with our partners in charter and private schools, as well as discussing implementation with various school boards and several state governors.” He compared the experience to a “FaceTime call with one of the Founding Fathers.”
Inashi expressed gratitude for having Pitbull, also known as Armando Perez, involved in the project. “He’s one of the biggest pop stars globally and has a deep passion for education and the American narrative,” he said, highlighting Pitbull’s belief in the value of self-building in America.
The AI model representing the Founding Fathers was crafted using extensive historical archives. “We examined numerous trusted sources to recreate the likeness of figures like Washington. We even considered how he might have sounded, utilizing an accent from that era and a voice designed to reflect how we imagine he’d speak today,” Inashi explained.
In addition to teaching American civics, Inashi believes the project could assist students who might be hesitant to ask questions in class. He noted, “Now, they can go home, ask questions, engage, and receive important answers that correspond with their curriculum.”
The inspiration for this venture stemmed from a quote by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. “There’s a memorable clip of him asking if children could one day converse with Aristotle and receive responses. Our goal has been to make history interactive and engaging for everyone,” Inashi shared.
Pitbull, who identifies as a first-generation Cuban-American, has been vocal about his supportive views on America. In 2021, he made headlines with his remarks directed at those who criticize the nation.
“For those of you who hate the United States of America, God bless you, but at the same time, I have strong feelings about that,” he stated. He added that anyone unhappy with the U.S. should consider their origins to better appreciate the country.
