‘How Dare You Use the Bible’ While Discussing Trump’s Pardons

On CNN's “Anderson Cooper 360” on Wednesday, network contributor Adam Kinzinger spoke about President Donald Trump's Jan. 6 pardon of 1,500 people involved in House Mike Johnson. He lamented that the Speaker (R-Los Angeles) quoted the Bible and said he believes in repentance.

Asked about the J6 pardon at a press conference, Johnson said, “We believe in redemption. We believe in second chances.”

Kinzinger said: “So I'm speaking as a Christian here. I saw Chairman Johnson say, 'We believe in salvation.' How dare you use the Bible for something like this? First of all, the great key to salvation is repentance. All these people you just showed have no repentance. In fact, they think they did the right thing. And look, Pam Hemphill is actually refusing the pardon, but she's sincerely contrite about this. ”

He added, “By the way, Hunter Biden actually repented of what he did, but he continued to be attacked for political purposes for two years. So stop talking about repentance, Chairman Johnson. Defending this. Go out and advocate for the criminals who are on the streets right now. I respect you for doing that. I'm going to go on record and say that I agree with this. Don't come here with repentance.”
