Sports analyst and podcaster Stephen A. Smith accused liberals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of not addressing the problems of the American people in their blistering tirades against Democrats.
Smith has been less active with left-wing parties since Donald Trump's re-election, and has in fact been accused of being disloyal, given that he admitted he did not vote for the president.
Smith on Tuesday responded to a video posted by Rep. Ocasio-Cortez claiming that Americans are on the “eve of dictatorship.”
AOC specifically reacted to President Trump's correspondence with social media platform TikTok, agreeing to allow the app to use its “push notification system to all 170 million American users to promote Donald Trump.” claimed to have done so.
“This is starting to look like 21st century fascism,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
She added, “If I were a bettor, they would probably have an agreement with Donald Trump not to use these push notifications. They would probably consider changing the algorithm.” he added.
The New York representative went on to argue that the Republican Party is modeled after Hungarian leader Viktor Orbán and wants to control American media and businesses.
“This is exactly why Trump is president.”
The Democrat's comments sent Smith into a spiral, with his response starting as a soft whisper and continuing throughout. Eventually it escalates It turned into a full-fledged yell.
“Did you say control the media? AOC?” Smith began. “Did you talk about controlling the media? Was that something you brought up?”
“So does that mean there was no ‘woke’ culture because the left didn’t engage in bullying tactics?”
Smith then paused, raised an inquisitive eyebrow at the camera, and then spoke about the rhetoric around transgenderism.
“The moment we're asked to protect young women in our society, that gets thrown out the window, and the moment a man wants to transition into a woman and participate in women's sports, suddenly there's no one left. Consistency with what was finally forced!'' Smith exclaimed.
Smith completely screamed and said, “So it's the Republicans that we have to worry about now? But don't you? You never do that. Oh my god, it's never going to be you.'' Guys, it's not going to happen! ? ” Smith said.
“This is exactly why Trump is president. People are calling him 'racist, fascist,' and all the other names. That's what you do when you're on the left!” he added.
The host also claimed that the Democratic Party doesn't pay attention to what Americans want, saying the party only affects “1%” rather than black people, who make up “nearly 14%” of the population. Less cited is that it focuses on transgender issues.
Smith then read a newspaper clipping about President Trump's immigration plan and executive orders that referred to a revolution around “common sense.”
“Trump didn't win the election. You lost,” Smith concluded.
The podcaster's closing comments were similar to what he said about H-1B visas in early 2025.
While Smith praised Republicans for allowing debate within the party without taking a firm side on the issue, he noted that Democrats would never allow such a debate.
“You're black, you're white, you're gay, you're lesbian, you're straight, you're transgender. It doesn't matter. Even if you are, you still think one way. You have to have one.'' If you don't have an umbrella, you'll be kicked out. ”
