‘The Holocaust is not a joke’

The Anti-Civil League comes after he posted a series of Nazi-related puns on X while defending his gesture at President Trump's inauguration rally that many claim was a Nazi salute. He blamed Elon Musk.

ADL, a New York-based organization that fights anti-Semitism, said Musk went too far when he tried to mock those who were targeting the salute.

Following online backlash, Musk posted several inappropriate puns Thursday morning referencing top Nazi officers and Holocaust architects including Rudolf Hess, Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Göring, and Heinrich Himmler. I did.

“Don’t say hello to Nazi accusations!” musk wrote x. “Some people say do anything!

“Stop stopping the enemy! His pronouns would have been he/Himmler!” he added. “You must have done the Nazi coming.”

Maucus' comment was flagged by ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. ADL CEO condemned Tesla CEO's statements regarding the X platform.

“We've said it hundreds of times before, and we'll say it again: The Holocaust was an extremely evil event, and revealing it is inappropriate and offensive.” Greenblatt wrote.

“@elonmusk, the Holocaust is not a joke.”

The accusations were quickly followed by ADL's main X account, which echoed the criticism against Musk.

“Making inappropriate and highly offensive jokes trivializing the Holocaust minimizes the evil and inhumanity of the Nazi crimes, reveals the suffering of both victims and survivors, and It helps to dishonor the memory of the six million Jews who were murdered in the United States.” the group wrote in a statement.

Musk earned the wrath of the ADL in November 2023. He agreed with anyone who claimed that the Jewish community pushes “hatred against white people who say they want people to stop working against them.”

ADL's criticism of masks comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims the billionaire is “falsely whitewashed” over a viral video of his repeated salute at President Trump's inauguration rally .

The ADL also defended the mask salute, saying too many people were “on the edge” after Trump returned to the White House on Monday.
