Meteorologist who cursed out Elon Musk fired by local TV station: Report

A meteorologist for a local news network was reportedly banned after sharing multiple social media posts accusing X owner Elon Musk of blasphemy.

Musk made the gesture during Monday's inauguration ceremony. Critics interpreted it as a Nazi salute when the SpaceX CEO placed his hand on his heart and reached into the crowd as if to say, “My heart goes out to you.”

WDJT-TV (Channel 58) meteorologist Sam Kuffel in Milwaukee reportedly wrote on Instagram, “Nazis saluted twice. During inauguration.” She then declared, “With you and this guy, I'm not with you. Full stop.”

In another post, she shared a meme from the sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia when a character says, “Screw that old b, it's a Nazi.”

CBS 58 meteorologist Sam Cuffel was reportedly fired from the network for comments she made online.

milwaukee journal sentinel reported on Wednesday That kaffel had been removed from her work.

“WDJT-TV (Channel 58) staff was alerted via email on Wednesday that meteorologist Sam Cuffel had left the station. Her biography and photo had been removed. [the] By Wednesday afternoon, the Channel 58 website outlet reported.

“Meteorologist Sam Cuffel is no longer employed by CBS58,” said a staff memo from news director Jesse Garcia. “A replacement search is in progress.”

“A spokesperson for Weigel Broadcasting Co. confirmed in an email late Wednesday that Kuffel is no longer on Channel 58,” the Sentinel reported.

Kuffel was not the only critic to accuse Musk of fascist sympathies after the incident, but he was defended by others, including Jewish groups.

The Prevention and Abolition League (ADL) came to Musk's defense, calling it a “troubling gesture.”

“This is a delicate moment. It's a new day, but many have the upper hand. Our politics are inflamed and social media is only adding to the anxiety. @elonmusk in a moment of enthusiasm Nazi salutes, but again, we appreciate people taking the upper hand,” ADL wrote in a viral post on the X platform. “In this moment, all sides should give each other a little grace, maybe even the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath. This is a new beginning, hoping for healing and moving toward unity in the months and years ahead. Let's work.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also defended Musk in a statement on social media.

“Elon is a great friend of Israel,” the prime minister said in a post on the X Platform. “He visited Israel after the October 7 massacre, when Hamas terrorists committed the worst atrocities against Jews since the Holocaust. We have repeatedly and strongly supported Israel's right to protect and seek only the Jewish state.”

Podcaster Joe Rogan also slammed Musk's critics, claiming they were acting with malicious intent.

“The problem with that is, it's just been crying wolf for a while and people are like, 'Oh, this is the Bulls — the game you're playing and you just use that as an excuse. “I'm just doing it,” Logan told show guest and fellow podcaster Rex Fridman on Wednesday.
