Terrion Arnold's offseason has gotten off to a dangerous start.
The Lions' star cornerback posted surveillance video Thursday that shows him slipping on the carpet and falling down the stairs.
The footage shows Arnold looking at his phone before losing his right leg and beginning to slide down at least a dozen flights of stairs.
“It's been a tough morning,” Arnold posted on his X account, along with a laughing emoji.
Arnold tried to stop himself by grabbing the railing with his left arm, but his momentum continued and he fell to the bottom of the stairs.
Arnold hit the top of the stairs with his right heel rather than the ball of his toe, and his cell phone appears to be the root cause of the horrific accident.
He fell down the stairs and hit the ground hip-first, but it appears he escaped serious injury — though he would have been on the injury report if Lyons hadn't been upset by his managers. Maybe.
Arnold, a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has one of the league's best defenses when healthy and was one of the best rookies in the NFL this year.
The Lions were plagued by a spate of injuries that ultimately ended their season, but Arnold served as a stabilizing force for defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn's team.
Glenn then left the Lions to become the head coach of the Jets.
When news broke that Glenn would not be returning to the team, Arnold posted on X, “I couldn't be happier for my coach. Thank you for everything you taught me in my first year.”
Arnold defended 10 passes, made 60 tackles, and consistently matched up with one of the opponent's top receiving threats.
