Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins wants his offensive linemen to start getting some recognition.
Offensive linemen have been named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams, but there is currently no such thing as an Offensive Lineman of the Year award.
“There's no award for greatness for an offensive lineman. There's no award for 'Protector of the Year.' I'm knocking on a lot of doors right now to get this award. At the collegiate level, offensive linemen have won numerous different awards.
The Lombardi Award is given to the most outstanding college football lineman, tight end or linebacker of the year. This season, Texas Longhorn left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. won the award.
The Outland Trophy is awarded to the best interior lineman on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Banks also won that award this season.

The Rimington Trophy, awarded to the best center, went to Ohio State Buckeye star center Seth McLaughlin.
The NFL recognizes MVP, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, Walter Payton Man of the Year, Comeback of the Year, and Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year.
The only award an offensive lineman has a realistic chance of winning is the off-the-field award, the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, given for acts of service to the community.

Dawkins has spent all eight seasons of his career with the Bills, and his ability will be put to the test this weekend when the Bills take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship.
Dawkins, a four-time Pro Bowler, will be tasked with stopping star defensive linemen Chris Jones, George Karlaftis and Leo Chenal from pursuing Josh Allen.
The Bills and Chiefs are scheduled to play Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
