Keyshawn Johnson's bet on Aaron Glenn's head coaching start comes with some serious skin in the game.
The Ex-NFL Wideout addressed his former Jets teammates' hiring Thursday on FS1's “Speak,” including one of the franchise's biggest stars and predicted massive changes are coming. I am.
“He doesn't start with his career – now I'm the first to say this, no one else has said this – he doesn't start with his career with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback in September. I wouldn’t start with,” Johnson said before putting it all on the line.
“If that's the case, I'm walking from Calabasas to the studio at 4 a.m. in the morning with nothing on but my boxers. So I'm saying this with a lot of confidence. …I'm letting you know Just, he's not going to start his career with that mess. It's not going to happen. He's not going to let anyone tell him what he's doing as a coach.”
Glenn returned to Gang Green as a first-time head coach after leading the franchise to its former cornerback.
This solved one of the countless problems facing the team in a crucial offseason. A new general manager is still on the checklist. Rodgers' status openly respects his future after the train wreck of the 2024 season.
But Johnson believes Glenn's mind is made up of that issue.
“I don't know who they're going into the season with, but they're not going into the season with No. 8,” he said.
Johnson's message to Jets fans came with Glenn coming earlier this week.
“I tell them, you got a good one. Don't f–k it up. You got a good one. You got a really good one.” '' he told The Post's Steve Selby.
“Don't rush to win the Super Bowl tomorrow. The Detroit Lions built a program to where they are. Buffalo built a program to where they are. It won't happen overnight. .”
