Scott Perunovich has strong debut with Islanders’ win

A year ago, the game on November 24 in Ottawa changed the island's season. Adam Perek and Sebastian Aho were both injured and trimmed the islands into four defensemen to eventually win the Senator.

It caused Mike Riley from the exemption, and when Ryan Prok joined a wounded list a few weeks later, Lou Ramoriello did not waste time from Bruce to Robert Boltzzo.

In a series of events last week, Noah Dobson was injured, the islanders brought Tony Duangelo, joined Dobson to the injured list, and Ramorierello exchanged for another blues's defenseman, Scott Pernovic. I feel very similar just to do.

And in his first match for the islanders on Tuesday night, Pernovic showed how to help Patrick Roy's crew coach, show aggressive skills, and won the 5-2 victory in an avalanche. I got it.

“He played a really good game for us. That's what I wanted from him,” said Roy, mainly with Adam Perek, who skated 17:42 at night. Ta. “I said [to him] This morning, “Stop being nervous. Just go there and play the game and enjoy it.” That's the first time with his islanders, [he] It is worth enjoying. “

Pernovic, who has a new hair cut, said he should have accepted a lot for the past 36 hours, but he felt good about the night.

“I think it was a late start for me, but my teammates helped the whole game with the system and questions,” he said. “My partner also took care of my really good tonight. That's a kind of learning adjustment, but I feel good. It's going to be better every day.”

Pernovic, a woner of the 2020 Hobby Baker Award, and a former Second Round's pick, has a blues that he could not be a lineup, despite the solid attack skill set. It is safe to say that it was never reached.

At the beginning of the day, Pernovic explained that he was surprised to be traded, but he added, “I knew that something would probably come.”

“It was hard,” said a 26 -year -old who played 24 games with St. Louis this year.

“It's a wonderful team with a lot of friends. I'm definitely sad, but you have to do the best for you. That's it.”

After missing the last four games -3 games with suspension and one as a healthy scratch -Max TSYPLAKOV Participated in the lineup again, Pierreen Val pulled out and entered the fourth line.
