Supervisor let air traffic controller leave shift early before DC plane crash: report

Reagan National Airport Tower's supervisor has reported that an air traffic controller has departed early from his shift just before a fatal collision on the Potomac River on Wednesday night.

As a result, a single controller was monitoring both airplanes and helicopters flying in the area, and the information on the survey told NBC News.

One controller is usually in charge of a helicopter, and another controller monitors the plane. FAA said on Thursday that one air traffic controller was working in a catastrophic collision.

The only controller from Wednesday nights has warned that the only controller is too close to the American Airlines Pilot, which is recognized by an experienced helicopter pilot.

Experts believe that the helicopter pilot may have been piloted to avoid the wrong plane. This is a jet of the same model far away -I have never seen an American flight until it is too late.

National Transportation Safety Board is investigating whether the chopper is flying.
