President Trump offers Palestinians a chance for peace and prosperity

We have seen the most important first two weeks of his tenure since President Trump's reelection. But even by Trump standards, this week's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu can't be thought of anything but historic.

In his first term, their arguments produced a commendable Abraham agreement.

This time President Trump came out and said that since the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023, what American leaders have not had the courage to say. Such an attack occurs again.

The acquisition of the US Gaza Strip proposed by Trump will bring out positive reactions throughout the government.

But the only way to prevent history from repeating itself is to break the paradigm of failure that has been repeated for half a century and create new types. The meeting between President Trump and Netanyahu suggests he intends to do just that.

For these 50 years, America and others have failed because of the Palestinians that they are not: nation-states. Without a state durable system, such efforts have proven to be futile at best. This is proven by failing to achieve the so-called “two-state solution” despite claiming that it must be for generations.

Now, President Trump is taking a new tack. He recognizes that the situation in Gaza is unacceptable. At a joint press conference with Netanyahu last night, he announced his intention to begin a US acquisition of the Gaza Strip, temporarily relocate Palestinians and develop war-torn regions into the “Middle Eastern Riviera.” .

In doing so, President Trump provided what the international community (and many Americans on the political left) had been screaming for since the start of the war. It is a “next day” plan for the war in Gaza. Instead of refusing this plan in a way that is unruly hysterically, those who requested it should propose or be involved in it.

The proposal reflects Trump's determination not to repeat the mistakes of his predecessor. Currently, Gaza lacks an agency that makes it possible to run two-state solutions. Pretending that they exist will only lead to failure. This is unacceptable in areas that are critical to Israel's security, where American taxpayers are already spending billions of dollars.

President Trump's position shows that he understands this and his ability to recognize valuable real estate when he sees it, particularly his chances.

Critics have already argued that President Trump's plan is merely talking about Parum from the right-wing Israeli playbook, marking “an incredible escalation in the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians.” I claim.

However, this was not proposed by the President. Rather, his goal is to reconstruct Gaza as a place no longer a launch pad for terrorist attacks. If Palestinians choose to create this future rather than be bothered by Hamas, then it is to make Palestinians better and safer to live. Permanent victims.

Needless to say, these critics are some of the same people who prophesied the virtual apocalypse in 2017 when Trump announced the US embassy's move to Jerusalem. The streets, and Israeli neighbours, are forced to attack the Jewish state, whether they want them or not. Clearly, their claims were not true at the time, and there is no reason to assume that they are now.

And in that case, President Trump's decision proved to be merely a point of contention from Israel's far right. Rather, this move brought about the US position, secured peace in Jerusalem and on the way towards the wider peace of the Abraham Agreement.

Today, President Trump is expanding that pattern further by providing what he has always provided to the Palestinians: peace through prosperity. It belongs to them.
