Clay Matthews, Fletcher Cox, Adam Vinatieri and Joe Thomas were nominated for Colt's Safety Impact Award, which Matthews won. McCaffrey said it was “incredible” to be part of a campaign with NFL legend.

“Take a course on gun safety. If you are a first-time firearm owner, I recommend taking the course. “McCaffrey said.
He compared the process of learning responsible gun ownership and the process of learning soccer at a young age.
“In soccer, I went to camps and clinics that taught me how to play the game,” he said. “If you own a firearm, you need to go to the course and get a license and make sure you've read everything about how to properly operate your firearm.”
