Tiger Woods to make 2025 PGA Tour debut at Torrey Pines, site of famous U.S. Open win

Scottsdale, Arizona – Tiger Woods announced on Friday that he will do so I'll play at Genesis Invitational next week. The annual tournament hosted by Woods has moved from the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles to Torrey Pines in San Diego due to wildfires.

Woods has had many successes on the South Course at Torrey Pines. This includes a memorable victory over Rocco Mediaite at the 2008 US Open. He also conquered the South Course many times and won seven farm insurance. He recently did so in 2013 when he was recently awarded the PGA Tour Player of the Year Award.

Woods last played a PGA Tour event with the Tory Pines in 2020, tied for 9th place that week, finishing a six-stroke behind Mark Leishman. The result came about a year ago when a tragic car accident in Southern California took his life.

Since then, Woods has played sporadically and has not been able to compete in the 11 tournaments he played. His best results over the past four years came at the Genesis Invitational in 2023, held at the Riviera, which was tied to 45th place.

Woods also had back surgery. In September, they have not started their official PGA tour since then. He played in the PNC Championship with his son Charlie in December, losing to Bernhardlanger in the playoffs and getting a pair of starts in the TGL, the new indoor golf league he and Rory McIlroy found.
