Patriots owner Robert Kraft opens up on Trump attending Super Bowl LIX, Tom Brady calling the game

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. His old friend Donald Trump is also there.

Kraft gave him his idea that Trump would become the first seat president to participate in the big game in an interview with Fox News Digital.

“When the US president comes as a guest, it shows that the NFL and the Super Bowl can be important,” Kraft said.

Kraft said in an October Breakfast Club interview that he had previously donated to Trump. The owner, who has an estimated net worth of $11.8 billion, said he first met Trump in the 1990s.

“Donald Trump became social friends in the early '90s when I went to Florida. And when my wife passed away… he was the four people who reached out to me. It was one of five and it was really, really lovely,” Kraft said.

“The only donation I gave to him was that he called me when he was elected and I made a strong donation to his inauguration. I couldn't believe it. I was drunk. It was like a fraternity brother to become president of America.”

However, the owner said he distanced himself from Trump after the events of January 6, 2021.

“I'll say this,” Kraft said. “I was very upset about what happened on January 6th. And I'm not talking. [Trump] since then. “

The Patriots went to other lengths to distance themselves as a franchise from the former president.

In May 2021, the Team and Kraft denied that the Team and Kraft attempted to pay the US Senators money to stop investigating a fraud scandal involving him and Trump.

The report claims Trump met with Senator Ahlen Spector in 2008 and offered him “money in Palm Beach” if he stopped investigating the Spygate scandal.

Trump had not started his political career at the time and was well known as the “apprentice” star. ESPN says Trump was acting on behalf of Craft.

“Kraft is not aware of Trump's involvement in the topic. He had no other involvement with Spectre or his staff,” a team spokesman told ESPN.

Trump and Kraft's mutual friends are also in the Super Bowl, but for work-related reasons.

Tom Brady will air his first Super Bowl as a colour commentator for the Fox game broadcast, closing out the former quarterback's first season at the booth.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Craft praised Brady for his broadcasting skills.

“The way he presented the nuances of the game, what fans never see is really special and unique, and I think Fox is great to attract him,” Kraft said.

Brady received praise for his broadcast at the key moment in Commander Washington's NFC Divisional Round victory over the Detroit Lions on January 18th.

The commander rose three points and played under 14:30. They decided to go to it on the 4th and 2am from the Lions' 5-yard line. With the Lions halt, they would have regained the ball in time enough time to tie the game or take the lead.

Brady realizes something is wrong about the Lions' defense when the commander smashed their flock.

“We need a 12, a timeout, a timeout on the field,” Brady said. “Timeout! Timeout! No. No. What a disaster! What are they doing?”

The Lions were punished for having 12 men on the field. The penalty gave the commander a new set of Downs. The commander, running through Brian Robinson Jr., discovered the end zone twice later, raising Washington to 38-28. The commander won Game 45-28.

Brady received praise on social media for pointing out the lion's illegal defense.
