Colorado cop kills ‘active shooter’ outside Highlands Ranch family fun center: sheriff

The Colorado Sheriff's deputy shooting and murderer killed a suspect who had planned to attack the Family Fun Center south of Denver, authorities said.

Officers responded to reports of active shooters in Main Event Highland Ranch. This is a venue with lots of bowling, laser tags, mini golf and other family-friendly activities, and the gun is about 11:50pm on Saturday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said deputies told the man to drop the weapon, but he pointed it at the officers and urged him to shoot him. The unnamed gunman was declared dead at the scene, according to CBS News.

A woman was found with a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital. Authorities took another unidentified woman whom she thought had taken her into custody.
