The Kennedy Center, previously run by an elite in Washington, DC, was “broken” in part due to bloated executive salaries, sources within the center told Breitbart News.
President Donald Trump has been entrusted with Rick Grenell, interim executive director of the Kennedy Center, to restore the National Cultural Center in the United States to its previous glory.
Opened in 1971, the center was named as a memorial to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1964. They often hosted events that woke up during the Biden administration. Located on the eastern bank of the Potomac River, it descends the road from Georgetown, and its exterior was illuminated by a rainbow light display.
“RIC shares my vision for the golden age of American art and culture and oversees the Center's daily operations,” Trump posted on social media. “There's no more drug shows or any other anti-American propaganda. It's the best. Rick, welcome to show business!”
The Kennedy Center has a $240 million budget but has zero cash on hand, sources told Breitbart News.
“Today, the Kennedy Center CFO explained its financial situation,” Grenell wrote to X. Zero of the reserve. And postponed maintenance is a crisis. ”
“For the past few months, they've been digging into debt reserves,” he said. Added. “We have to fix this incredible institution. Those who work hard at the best performing arts centers in the nation are worth better, and so are all Americans.”
Grenell has already changed his budget. He fired several well-paid executives and reduced his salary by $2.4 million, the source added.
The fired executives include the former president and legal counsel of the center.
He appears to hire new staff at six figures, with a lower salary than his previous role.
New members of the Kennedy Center Council have also been announced.
Those include President Donald Trump, Susie Wills, Dan Scavino, Allison Lutonic, Linda Romangino, Mindy Levine, Usha Vance, Pamela Gross, John Falconetti, Cheri Summer All, Sergio Go, Emilia May Vanjul, Patricia Daggan, Dana Brunbag.
