New York woman fulfills 104th birthday wish by spending time in jail

Her bucket list wish was to be thrown into a can.

A woman in New York in the West had a lifelong wish for a 104th birthday celebration that allowed some sheriff officials to spend time trapped behind bars.

Loretta, a resident of Avon Nursing Home in Geneseo, saw her strange dream come true last week when she was happily thrown into Clink at the Livingston County Jail on Monday.

100 people were offered a private tour of the facility, where she was able to personally see the elaborate surveillance system and reservation rooms nearby.

Loretta seemed excited by the photo of the experience, especially in the shots of her seeing her reach for a pair of shackles.

Unlike other guests to the prison (usually visiting against their will), Loretta's trip included a party with coffee and cakes.

Before leaving, Loretta gave Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty special advice on how to live longer.

“Be careful with your business!” she is quoted as saying.
