Defense Secretary Pete Hegses told Breitbart News in a recent exclusive interview that he saw a social media chat about a photo of him running beside the “Hulk” and made it rough. Ta.
“Yeah, I saw the guy I was running with – the real Hulk,” he said. “If you eat spinach or something, he looks like me. I mean, a man is a beast.”
This week's first international trip to Europe began with physical training, or “PT” in military language, along with members of the 10th Special Forces Group stationed in Stuttgart, Germany.
The photos from that PT session went viral. In particular, one of Heggs running behind a much larger-sized, smiling soldier.
Social media users called the man a “tank” or “unit” and partly changed the image that he and the Secretary of Defense hit a funny meme.
Heggs said he didn't want to reveal the soldier's name, but he said he was one of the leaders of Group 10.
“He's just a beast and I hope he's more famous on the internet than his dreams, because it's the kind of image I want what the US military will look like. .
“But it's great that people are visuals that have our army,” he said. “We want the right guy and gal to be ready.”
Hegseth recently highlighted another soldier in his X account, saying, “Stronger people are hard to kill – fact.”
“That guy is an example,” he said.
During his visit to Warsaw, Poland, Hegstes also ran later in the week with the US Marines stationed at the US Embassy. He and the Marines ran into the frigid Polish winter weather just after the city received light dust from snow.
“It was great to do PT with the military. We'll continue with it. It's not a one-off,” he said. “It gives you the opportunity to talk to guys and gals in ways not portrayed. They can give you some feedback.”
A retired Army Major and combat veteran, Hegseth restored the military warrior spirit to his top priorities. This has made a major departure from the Biden administration's focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
He told Breitbart News that the best part of his job is spending time with the military and seeing the morale impact of “going back to basics.”
He said men and women from all ranks came to him and said, “Just thank you, thank you for having the courage to stand up to President Trump.”
“The recruitment number – we call it the Trump effect – it's true – the chief of the commander who really, really important,” he said.
“It was cool to see those numbers, but it's even cooler to see the faces of people who are willing to stay. Inspired by President Trump and your leadership, we want to be involved. .”
He also praised the professionalism of the US military.
“I have to say, professionalism in our military uniformed class is very special to America,” Heggs said:
There is private leadership. President Trump has been elected. He selected members of the appointed Cabinet, currently the civil leader of the world's largest military. That army has decided whether to comply with those legal orders, and generally there is a special system in which the majority of members of those uniforms salute and try to carry out.
“It's pretty cool, it's so special. And I'll thank them.”
