SAN FRANCISCO – Adam Silver attempts to quell the theory of a conspiracy about the stunning trade that sent Luka Donsic to the Lakers.
“I have sympathy for the Mavericks organization,” Silver said at the annual All-Star Weekend press conference. “I can certainly say one thing. Whether history judges this as a clever deal, they did what they thought for the best interest of the organization. I am absolutely impure. They have no motivated beliefs or knowledge.
“There is no doubt in my heart. [Mavericks owners] I bought that team to store in Dallas. There is no doubt that they are committed to the long-term success of the franchise. And when it comes to Dallas fans, all I can say to them is time to know if it's a smart deal or not. But I think they should trust their organization. ”
The decision to send Donsic, one of basketball's five best players, to the NBA's marquee franchise, is a swift from the Mavericks fanbase who targeted general manager Nico Harrison in protest outside the arena. I came across a huge backlash.
That led to accusations that the family of new owner Dumont Adelson had planned to move to Las Vegas as they owned the casino.
Anthony Davis, who Mavericks acquired at Doncic, has already been injured on his recovery timeline for at least a few weeks.
“I'm not in a second guess position.” [the trade]Silver said.
Silver has admitted an overload of three-point shooting that could potentially affect the game's aesthetics and entertainment, but has not made any changes to curb what is called a “cookie cutter” crime That's what it was.
“We're paying a lot of attention to it,” Silver said. “I'm not going to say there's no room for improvement. We'll continue to look at it and study, but I'm happy with the state of the game right now.”
When asked what he would suggest to improve the NBA, Jalen Brunson reluctantly chose to change his schedule.
“I'd say honestly, that would alleviate back-to-back,” Branson said. “My only answer.”
The Knicks have 15 sets of games in a row this season, mostly later in the season.
Silver has already reduced back-to-back after the league averaged 19.3 in 2014-15.
Branson, who was eliminated after the first round in the NBA's three-point contest, added that he would not change the rules to keep his score down. He said it's up to the defenders to adjust.
“From game to game, physicality can change,” Branson said. “It can be more physical, but sometimes it's not. I just adjust it and when you're physical I think you can become, when you can't, and only know what's clever about it.
“The game is evolving. Everyone is getting better. Everyone is finding ways to attack the best defenders. It's ten times more difficult. But you're honestly adjusting to physicality. You need to do that.”
Nikola Djokic picked out the town of Karl Anthony as the player he became friends with over the All-Star weekend.
“That's not something we're approaching. We're not going to each other's houses. But we do the same job, we're eating the same bread, so we have a little communication. Why not try it?” Jokic said.
