LeBron James out for NBA All-Star Game with ankle, foot discomfort

LeBron James will not be participating in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night.

The Lakers superstar revealed that he would not play due to foot and ankle discomfort more than an hour before it began.

“You can't see anything from me tonight. Unfortunately, I'm not wearing my uniform tonight,” James told reporters. “I'm still dealing with ankle and foot discomfort so I won't play tonight. I hate it, but I'm looking forward to seeing the format. This is the first year of it. … It's fun It should be.”

James was scheduled to play as a member of Shaq's OGS team in a new format featuring a four-team single-elimination mini-tournament consisting of eight players.

The winners of each game will advance to the championship, with Shaq's OGS team going to take on a team consisting of first- and second-year players.

James was scheduled to play alongside Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis.

“They call us OG. It's hilarious. We have a few guys with some gray hair, so that makes sense,” James said in the All-Star Game. I said it before it started.
