The senator ended his visit to Ukrainian capital Kiev on Monday, according to the Page. The state lawmakers of Colorado, New Hampshire and North Carolina also went to Bucha, a suburb of Kiev, where they experienced the mass atrocities that took place within the first weeks of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
“Our delegation saw firsthand how Ukraine keeps Russian troops at bay at the gates of Europe,” Shaheen, a ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee, said on the page.
“Strengthening Ukraine's leverage at this critical time will end the voluntary lockdown of US support, ensure permanent security guarantees for Ukraine, Russia imposes more sanctions, and Vladimir. “To do that, the US must continue to support Ukraine's ability to protect itself and negotiate from a strength standpoint,” he added.
