2024 Atlanta Falcons It may have been the most Atlanta Falcons team ever. The high moment when QB Kirk's cousin came early, he believed this would ultimately become the team that brought Atlanta back into the playoffs. However, the slides and QB benches later in the season came to a later date, and the Falcons fell apart once more. On one side of the coin, drafting QB Michael Penix Jr. was a fantastic set of visionaries by Falcons. Because they already have QBs of the future. However, this 2025 draft should be used to address some of the defensive holes.
Which is the question? We ranked the Falcons' top needs and the best players for what they need in the draft.
1. Edge Rush
The Falcons' pass rush existed last season, finishing with the second NFL sack. The new DC Jeff Ulbrich is coming from New York JetsWinning in 4 and having an offensive pass rush is the king. The Falcons don't have tools in their tool bags right now. So you need to add it to that line of defense.
Best fit: Mike Green, Marshall, Princess Uman Milen, OlemisAntowun Powell Ryland
2. Cornerback
The opposite location of AJ Terrell is still looking for a grab, and Mike Hughes and Dee Alford will become free agents this offseason. If Ulbrich plays as many quarters as the Jets last year, he'll be surprised that someone next to Terrell has Clark Phillips inside.
Best fit: Soap Level, East Carolina, Quincy Riley, Louisville, Tomihill, Nebraska
3. Center
Drew Dalman, like his backup Ryan Noisil, is the upcoming free agent. The pivot spot on wide zone offenses, which the Falcon loves to run, is important as they must be able to cut the back of the defensive tackle. With all other locations in the offensive line set, pivot points could be the area that Falcon adds through the draft.
Best Fit: Marcus MBOW, Purdue, Glaza Bell, North Dakota, Jackson Slater, Sacramento
4. safety
Justin Simmons is caught up in a one-year contract and is a free agent, just like Richie Grant. They may bring Simmons back for their relationship with Jesse Bates, but if Simmons leaves, the safety room could require a major upgrade. Bates has plenty of scope for the backend, but complementing him would be good in depth.
Best fit: Nick Eman Wy, South Carolina, Sebastian Castro, Iowa, Lasan Ransom, Ohio
