The January brawl is far from Hennard's first scandal. Former Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot has discovered that Henard is engaged in a “systematic effort” to cover up excess spending.

According to a Bombshell report from Lightfoot, the city's credit card spending reached $779,638 in 2023, with little tracking. The city's credit card will also be used to pay for large trips to Las Vegas in both 2022 and 2023, and the report states that “as a result of any of these two trips, the business development has been the result of “There is no evidence that the opportunity came to the village.”
