At one point in the sketch, Hanks' character appears uncomfortably in waving a black man.

“The fact that they make everyone who makes people who voted for Trump look like racist is why they're mad,” Behar said of the backlash. Around Variety.

“I personally never do that because I don't think any group is one thing.”

Victoria Jackson, alum from Saturday Night Live I told TMZ She was angry at Hanks' appearance and pointed out Comment by political commentator Link Lauren With X, who called the sketch “unpleasant.”

“Tom Hanks appeared on 'SNL' in a Magazine Hat, acting like he didn't want to wave black people,” Lauren posted.

“The show wonders why their ratings are in the ditch. Trump won the popularity poll. I hate this tired trope that Maga is racist. “SNL” is a hassle show for Snowbish liberal elites. The Republicans today are a large tent coalition of many former Democrats (sic). Good reddance, “snl!”
